Nabha Power wins Two Prestigious Awards for Top Performance
Nabha Power Limited (NPL), a 100% subsidiary of L&T Power Development Limited, has been recognised for top performance in the Power Sector.
The first one is from Power Magazine of North America. Acknowledging NPL’s holistic and innovative solutions in advanced technology, building projects to alleviate chronic power shortages with emphasis on environmental protection - and for doing it all safely, on time, and on budget, Power Magazine has conferred it the Top Plant Award 2017 – Global Best.
Power Magazine, established in 1882, provides news on business operations, legal, regulatory issues, operations & maintenance information to the power generation industry. NPL has also been conferred the Best Thermal Power Generator Award 2017 by Independent Power Producer Association of India (IPPAI). This prestigious award in the thermal power plants category is for excellence in plant performance. IPPAI, established in 1994, aims to provide a neutral platform for the examination of issues critical to the development of the power sector with a prime focus on independent power producers.
IPPAI Power Awards recognise top performers in the Indian Power Sector. Its jury consists of eminent panel and representatives from Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu LLP. NPL operates a 1400 MW Supercritical Thermal Power Plant at Rajpura in Punjab. The plant, occupying top position in merit order, has its complete capacity tied to Punjab State Power Corporation Limited. NPL had a station availability of 93%, plant load factor of 77% and auxiliary power consumption of 5.18% during 2016.
