Tata Power's quality circle teams bags three Gold awards at CCQC 2017
Tata Power, India's well known integrated power company, revealed that the Company's Jojobera quality circle teams have been honoured with three prestigious Gold Awards at Chapter Convention on Quality Circle (CCQC) 2017 by Quality Circle Forum India, Durgapur (QCFI). The teams were awarded for excellent problem-solving capabilities and their contribution towards quality-control initiatives at Jojobera thermal power station.
Tata Power's teams Tejas (Operation), Team Parigyan (CHP), and Team Achievers (MMD) competed with teams from various organizations. The case studies presented by Tata Power teams included
- Tejas : Reduction in Cold start up time by preheating of Boiler feed water.
- Parigyan: Coal rake unloading is affected due to frequent unavailability of SAC#A.
- Achievers : Mill Journal Assembly Oil level inspection and top up problem In running Mill
This year the prominent participants at the CCQC included Tata Steel (Jharia), Tata Power (Jamshedpur), Durgapur steel plant, DVC (Andal), Bhilai steel plant, Neelanchal Ispat, Bokaro steel plant, DVC (Mejhia), Jindal Steel, DVC (Maithon), Tata Global Beverages, R&D Tata Technical, Tata Tea Assam, among many others.
CCQC provides a platform to the teams to showcase their ability to deal with problems by using quality control tools. It also grants an opportunity to be a part of many fun filled activities such as knowledge test, poster making, essay contests etc. Quality Circle Forum India, Durgapur (QCFI) is one of the leading non-profit National Organisations promoting Quality Movement in India, since its inception in 1982. The membership is spread over to Manufacturing and Service Industry, Government Organisations, Academia, Banks and Hospitals etc. All levels of management from top to junior are involved who initiate, guide and nurture Quality Circles (QCs) as an important part of Total Quality Control (TQC).
